Rental software project









 Rental software for the video rental & DVD stores. Perfect for any business that rents products such as a video store. There are several additional modules available, such as advanced reservation module, shop module, cash register, mini CRM.

Software is network ready. Allows complete customer tracking, tracks payments and purchases, automatically calculates charges, maintains a history of all returns, etc.

For purpose of that software couple new components have to be developed. One of them is DBCalendar component, presenting reservations in one calendar grouped by days, weeks, months. Component is similar to MS Outlook calendar view.

Software can be used with couple external devices such as
  • cell phone (using SMS module customers can be informed about new titles available, changes, etc.). At this time I have developed drivers for Sony Ericsson cell phones such as T65, T68, T610, T630, K750 (these phones were tested with that software)
  • Barcode printers
  • Barcode Scanners
  • Receipt Printer

All collected information about rentals, sales, customers, titles (or other products that were actually rented) can by processed through out several reports and statistics.

Responsibilities

I designed most of application functionalities and coded them. That includes design of application, database structures, internal algorithms, reports and statistics, testing, deployment. In fact most of the life cycle of the product.
